We’ve worked really hard to remove plastic from our supply chain at FiveADRIFT. We selected a fulfillment (3PL) company based on the fact that they would use brown paper void fill in our boxes and paper tape. Two months into the partnership they changed to plastic bubble fill would no longer guarantee plastic tape. So we left them for another company that promised to always use recyclable paper in an effort to win our business. This said two things to us: 1) You have to ask for or even sometimes demand environmental changes from partners as part of awarding business to them. 2) Every sustainable focused business is in a constantly changing ecosystem and one has to stay vigilant and re-evaluate partners, processes and products continually.
